As a stay at home mom of two young kids and having lived in Northern Alberta for over nine years, I understand the dilemma of having limited shopping options available and relying on Internet shopping or on those few trips a year to the city to make purchases. Birthdays, Christmas, Baby Showers, Christenings and other occasions would come along and I would be in a panic over what I could buy. I wanted gifts that people would really appreciate as well as something that I would feel good about giving.

In 2008, our family relocated to another Northern town in Alberta….Rainbow Lake. And with having to put down roots for at least another few years, I decided to create a business that can be run from my own home while still being able to provide care and attention to my little ones. Equipped with a Degree in Business as well as over 10 years of experience in the financial industry, I felt I was ready to take on this venture of my own.

Play and Learn Toys is geared towards moms like me who would like to purchase quality educational toys and gifts that are safe to use by those we care about. The majority of products that we offer are well made and safe to use and because most of the toys are wooden, they can even be considered “green” or “eco-friendly” products. Many of our manufacturers have also adpoted certain measures to become more eco-friendly.

When we choose our suppliers, we look at their reputation in the industry as a quality and responsible toy producer and what they are doing to ensure that the products offered are safe. A lot of time and effort has been spent on choosing the suppliers in order to offer our customers with the type of product that we say we offer.

Many of the toys and gifts on our website are made of high quality and are built to last. The idea is that they can be passed on so that many generations can enjoy these products for years to come. The toys and games that we choose to offer in our store are also geared toward learning activites. They foster creativity and tons of imaginative fun for any age. Our store is Canadian owned and operated and products are available online throughout Canada. We can also ship to the US and other International destinations upon request. All items offered online are in stock and is usually shipped by the next business day upon having received your order. Our unique, specialty toys and gifts can also be purchased by stopping by our location in Rainbow Lake, Alberta.

Because we work with fewer suppliers, we can offer a wider variety of products from each supplier. We are also able to keep informed and up-to-date on our products so that we can pass any important information on to our customers.

We want our cutomers to have a great experience shopping at our store. Not only do we offer FREE Shipping with a minimum purchase, our customers can create an online Gift Registry for any occasion (Baby Shower, Birthday etc.). We also provide FREE Giftwrapping for every order.

As part of our goal to provide our customers with quality educational and learning toys and gifts at a competitive price right at their fingertips, we also have an option to "Host" an online party.

Our customers can invite their friends and family to shop at our store and each guest will get a discount on their entire purchase. The host of the online party will also receive discounts as well as FREE products from our store. This feature works great for a baby shower or birthdays since friends and relatives from across the country (or other countries for that matter) can purchase a gift for the intended occasion. We have also used our Online Party tool to help non-profit organizations earn toys for their organizations.
